Lots of web sites have disabled the right click function of the mouse button… it’s really, really annoying. This is done so that you don’t steal (via right-click->save picture) their photos or images or any other goodies. Unfortunately, it disables All right-click functionality: copy, paste, open in new window. It’s easy to change. (more…)

One of the great advantages of blogs is Plugins Facility. Simple website is not flexible enough to modify or enhance its functionality according to the ever changing needs. Plugins are flexible little programs made for blogs which provide extra functionality to it. And these are easy to manage and manipulate. Fix Unmountable Boot Volume
Problem
When the system gets halted improperly due to power outage or due to some other reason, the file system gets corrupted and Windows is unable to mount the boot drive properly. There are other factors that also result in unmountable boot volume. These include faster UDMA modes configured in BIOS and using 40 wire data cable for the hard drive.
Solution
- Load the fail-safe defaults in your BIOS and use 80 wire data cable for the hard drive for optimum performance.
- If the file system is demaged (which usually is the case)
- If you have Recovery Console installed at startup, then start the recovery console and go to step 3. (Look at second topic at this page for how to install recovery console at startup)
- If Recovery Console is not installed at startup, then boot with Windows XP CD.
- When the “Welcome to setup” message appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
- Select your Windows installation and type administrator password when prompted.
- At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r and then press enter. This will check your file system for errors and try to fix if any.
- When the above process is complete, type fixboot at the command prompt. This will fix the boot sector of the hard drive.
- Type exit at the command prompt to restart the system. Most probably the system will boot into Windows now.
Install Recovery Console in Windows Startup
I recommend that every single Windows user should have the Recovery Console installed on their system startup. I wonder why Microsoft have not included it by default as it is very useful if Windows crashes and refuses to start. You can install recovery console by yourself with the help of following steps.
- Insert the Windows CD in the CD ROM Drive.
- Click Start and then click Run.
- Type “D:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons” in the Run box without quotes.(where D is the CD ROM Drive). Click OK.
- Recovery Console Dialog will appear, select yes to install the recovery console on the startup.
- Restart and you will see the recovery console in your system startup.
Now you can easily solve the boot problems once your Windows machine gets into trouble and refuses to start.

When we print screen and there is video playing on the screen, the video part of the print screen gets black when saved. Now how should we print screen a video? There are two ways of doing this. One is for capturing only the video part and the other is for capturing the whole screen with video included.
Capturing video screen only
When playing Windows Media Player, press CTRL + I where you want to capture the video. This will prompt you to save your captured video and you’re all done. You have just captured your video scene without the help of any third party software.
Capturing the whole screen including the video
When it comes to capturing the whole screen including the video, understanding why does the video part goes black is important. First of all it is due to the hardware acceleration enabled. Most of our modern systems have hardware acceleration of the video enabled which is good for performance enhancement but it doesn’t allow you to do a print screen of the video part. To print screen including the video part, you have to disable the hardware acceleration of the video.
You can do it by Right clicking desktop –> Properties –> Settings –> Advanced –> Troubleshoot –> Make the Hardware Acceleration to none. Now whenever you print screen, the video will be included in the print screen. Note: Please be sure to get back to full hardware acceleration because it improves your graphics performance.Tip: To print screen, just hit the Print Screen button on your keyboard. The image will be captured to your clipboard. Just paste it in Microsoft Paint and save it wherever you want.

Windows Vista can be installed, used and run without any license, product key or the need of activation for 30 days grace period, for purpose of trial or evaluation. Although Microsoft initially stressed that users should purchase a license with valid product key before the trial period expires, or else Windows Vista will lock into Reduced Functionality Mode. However, a “rearm” method has long since been discovered to be able to extend, or reset the remaining time for activation to another fresh 30 days, for up to 3 times.
Now Microsoft has confirmed that Windows Vista can be used and run for 120 days or 4 months (3 rearms), and extending the activation grace period is not a violation of the Vista End User License Agreement (EULA). All versions of Vista include Windows Vista Ultimate allow a 30-day free period without activation, except the corporate-oriented Vista Enterprise, which supports only a three-day trial.
To extend, reset or restart the initial OOB grace period of Windows Vista to another 30 days, use the following steps:
1. Click on Vista Start button and key in Cmd in Start Search box.
2. Press on Ctrl-Shift-Enter to open Command Prompt with administrative credentials (equivalent to “Run as Administrator”).
3. In the Command Prompt, type the following command and press Enter when done: slmgr -rearm or you can use sysprep /generalize
4. Reboot the computer.
5. Rearm again when the remaining activation grace period timer counts down to 0 days.
Rearm option resets the computer’s activation timer and reinitializes some activation parameters.

If your computer has multiple users and you want to assign limited custom hours to certain user then follow these instructions.
Go to Start > Run. Type cmd.
Enter the command net user /time:S-F,08:00-20:00. Here /time is used to specify login time. S-F denotes Saturday to Friday and the time has been specified in 24- hour format. Individual timing sets with the days of the week along with corresponding time can be defined using semi-colon separation, and AM/PM time. For example /time:M,4am-5pm;T,1pm-3pm;W-F,8:00-17:00.
To reset the timing restrictions, use /time:all. Whenever timings are associated with user accounts, make sure at least one administrator (with a strong password) is there without time limitations. Note that this method is useful for implementing restrictions on logins and will not force a user to log out.
In a networked environment, usage hours can be defined in the Active Directory, but this may not be specifically applicable in your case.
Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools >Scheduled Tasks.
Double click Add Scheduled Task.
When the Schedule Task wizard appears, press Next and then Browse.
Enter %windir%\system32\shutdown.exe
Select a name for the task.
Enter task frequency, for example daily and press Next.
Enter task timings, days, date and other settings, press Next.
Enter Windows account login information through which the task will be executed, press Next.
Check ‘open advanced properties’, press Finish.
In the Task tab’s Run filed, ad parameters –s –t 01 after the exe file shutdown.exe. S is for shutdown, and T is for timeout for shutdown.
For more information on Shutdown parameter, type Shutdown at command prompt. You can set shutdown schedule as you like using this method.
